Windows 7 to launch October 22, 2009.
If you installed the RC for Windows 7 you have been given a special invitation to a pre-order of the operating system. This is good news for most early adopters. If you feel like you got the short end of the stick when you purchased Vista, then it looks like Microsoft is attempting to mend a burned bridge for those and users that are a little bit gun shy to install after a raw experience using Windows Vista.
The offer is good for 50% off of the retail price of Windows 7 home edition and 50% off the retail price on Windows 7 professional edition.
Special pricing or Windows 7 release candidate testers
This is a really excellent offer considering you cannot even get involved with an antivirus or less than 50 bucks these days and they have a brand-new operating system is certainly worth the money.
I have to admit I have been running Windows 7 for about two months now and it has been stellar. The only thing that I would say has been one of the shortcomings is not having a good antivirus program.
I also had a glitch with iTunes and had to reinstall the program because it was not compatible with my DVD burner.
However if you compare that to Windows Vista I think most would be quite content with these little shortcomings. And there again this is a release candidate it is not a full version. So here is the website you can go to if you are interested in doing a trial of RC.
